SEWING CLASSES

For Beginning Sewing adult private class, the students need to take 1 session, 1.5 hour as an introduction to learn how to use the machine (provided). If you’d like to bring your own sewing machine, just send us an email!

During this class, the students will learn:

- The parts of the machine, how to thread it and fill the bobbin.

- They will practice with the machine, sewing different types of stitches and stitch lengths.

At the end of this first session, we will work with the projects suitable for the beginning level.

With these projects, the students will learn:

- How to design their item/garment laying out the pieces of fabric on their table.

- How to cut the pieces of their project on the fabric, learning how to trace the pattern.

- The students will pin their pieces together and they will start sewing their project: Front and back, folding edges, sewing in a straight line, and lining projects if necessary.

- The students will have assistance to iron their pieces before and during the sewing process.

- Depending on the project and as a part of the finishing process, they will learn how to hand sew buttons, make buttonholes, sew zippers, and attach hardware.

The cost of private class is $40.00 per hour, plus materials (depending on the project).

The Kids Group Sewing class is 1 session, 2 hours, machine (provided). If you’d like to bring your own sewing machine, just send us an email!

The students will learn:

-Parts of the machine, how to thread it and fill the bobbin

-Different types of stitches and stitch lengths

-How to lay out the fabric, trace the pattern, and cut the pieces

-How to pin the pieces together and sew their project

About the project:

The students will make a pillow cushion

Assistance will be available during the entire class

The cost of the class is  $70.00 per student plus $25.00 materials. 

Materials:

Fabric, Thread, Buttons, Pillow insert (16”x16”), Folder with instructions to

repeat the project at home.
